Happy fall, friends. I know you have already been bombarded by pumpkin recipes, fall outfits on Pinterest (I know, I pinned some boots), and a general overwhelming happiness for fall and the crisp leaves under your feet. While sweaters and scarves are the best of company, I am still eating tomatoes, evident from all the BLT pictures below, and putting up a fight to keep the farmers’ market around for the next couple weeks. The apples coming in are quite beautiful, though.
In the past month, I have gotten my feet wet with fun activities (literally- the rains here in Denver had me sprinting into work barefoot because my shoes got soaked). A fun weekend in Portland made me realize once again how wonderful that city is, with key stops at Stumptown coffee, Salt and Straw, and Nostrana for thin crust pizza. Back in Denver, I celebrated a friend’s new job at Bones (getting me excited for Hong Kong!!) and then a whirlwind camping trip up to Buena Vista and Crested Butte- my new favorite getaways. I mountain biked for the first time (and busted my knee..), made nutella s’mores, and enjoyed the rain on our tent as we fell asleep. Another weekend was spent with my sister exploring Boulder and Breckenridge on day trips, and breakfast at Snooze. In the culinary realm, this month Noah and I conquered bread making! Overall, an action packed month and a perfect series of small weekend activities to get us ready for our long vacation next month.
Cheers to the end of summer- we had a good first run, Denver:
